OpenAI's NextSlide acquisition and new tools from Google and Ford place AI interfaces directly inside presentation, measurement, and vehicle-ownership tasks.

Presentation creation moves into the ChatGPT product team
OpenAI acquired NextSlide, a startup that turned prompts, notes, and documents into editable presentations. The price was not disclosed; founder Ahmed Beshry now works on the ChatGPT product side at OpenAI, while the NextSlide website carries a farewell note. According to Beshry, the deal closed earlier in the year and the announcement came several months late. The acquisition joins a product line OpenAI had already been building around office documents. The company released a ChatGPT add-in for Microsoft Excel in March and a plugin that works directly inside PowerPoint in May; in summer 2025 it was also working on agents that generate presentations and spreadsheets within chat. NextSlide was a small startup whose site had launched a little over a year earlier. It joins a series of OpenAI acquisitions that includes Sky, Roi, Context.ai, Crossing Minds, Statsig, and Ona. The concrete public changes are that the standalone tool's founder has joined the ChatGPT team and the NextSlide site has become a farewell note; no details were provided about how its technology will appear inside ChatGPT.[1]
Advertising data becomes a prompt-built dashboard
Google is adding Gemini-based features to the existing screens of its advertising and measurement products. A new section on the Google Analytics homepage gathers performance shifts and data trends since the user's last login and can send notifications. Personalised insight cards in Google Ads surface business-specific information, and users can also create cards with their own prompts. Visual dashboards built from a text prompt turn data into charts and prepare automatic summaries explaining performance patterns. Analytics is also getting a benchmarking section that compares results with anonymised data from similar businesses through Ask Advisor. The timing is not the same for every feature: Google says the Ads features are available now, while the Analytics dashboards are coming soon in a beta limited to English-language accounts. The only customer view in the announcement comes from Gardyn paid-media director Kevin Marshall, who says he uses Ask Advisor for a directional check and that its speed leaves more time for deeper analysis. Here, the interface sits inside the existing workflow for advertising data rather than on a separate chat page.[2]
Product context becomes more important than general chat
Ford's Gemini-powered assistant carries the same placement pattern into vehicle ownership. The chat window now rolling out to Ford and Lincoln mobile apps answers questions about fuel, tyre pressure, towing capacity, and upcoming service. Because the app is linked to the customer's vehicle, the assistant already knows many details specific to that car; questions such as how much fuel a trip will require or whether a truck can tow a particular boat can therefore use product context. Ford plans to bring the same assistant to the vehicle's screen by 2027. Across NextSlide, Google, and Ford, the shared element is the surface where the task already lives rather than the name of a general-purpose model: a tool that converts material into an editable presentation, a dashboard that knows advertising data, and an app tied to a particular vehicle. Users are asked to work through the existing document, account, or car instead of explaining all context again to a separate AI service. The three announcements show different stages of availability: NextSlide's form inside ChatGPT is unspecified, the Analytics dashboards will arrive as a limited beta, and Ford's in-vehicle version is planned for 2027.[1], [2], [3]
