AI output stretches from a PNG to a game and a sent message
OpenAI previewed transparent PNG generation, Meta opened prompt-built Pocket games to US users, and a ChatGPT plug-in can now send Apple Messages on a user’s behalf.

GPT-Image-2 generates transparent PNGs
OpenAI has previewed transparent-background generation in the GPT-Image-2 API. When a developer selects `background=transparent`, the model creates the transparency layer during generation and returns a PNG file. The company says this works better than conventional background removal, especially around difficult details such as glass and fine fibres. Product photography, icons, and stickers are highlighted as uses, while OpenAI advises checking values by hand when generated charts contain numerical data.[1]
Pocket turns a prompt into a playable feed
Meta has opened Pocket to all users in the United States. A written prompt becomes a small game that responds to touch and the phone's tilt, with sound effects and music clips available. The game is then published to a scrollable feed where other people can save, remix, or repost it. The iOS app can draw images from the camera roll or the live camera. Meta did not disclose which models generate the games.[2]
ChatGPT moves a message from draft to send
OpenAI's new plug-in connects ChatGPT to an Apple Messages inbox. It can sort, search, edit, delete, and send messages on the user's behalf, and it works with personal accounts as well as ChatGPT Work and Codex. OpenAI says the plug-in runs on the user's machine and does not build an index of every message, although it provided no technical detail. The company advises against persistent approval because enabling it removes the final human review before a message is sent.[3]
