Microsoft pushes Teams Facilitator’s in-meeting answers to November 2026

Microsoft has delayed the Teams Facilitator feature that spots a knowledge gap in a meeting and offers an answer from search until November 2026. GitHub is moving new Copilot Business and Enterprise seats to upfront payment and preparing to retain chat data for the life of an account in its unified Copilot experience. The Microsoft 365 roadmap is also becoming “AI at Work,” updated as plans are confirmed instead of in 2 annual waves.

Teams’ in-meeting answers slip to November 2026

Teams Facilitator’s ability to detect an unanswered question in a conversation and offer a response from search moved from a June target to July, then August and September; the latest target is November 2026. Worldwide general availability is planned for mid-December 2026, and the feature requires the premium edition of Microsoft 365 Copilot. When Facilitator joins a meeting, it tracks the agenda and takes notes; the delayed component processes the conversation in real time to identify a possible knowledge gap. Search-based answers are unavailable when Copilot web search is disabled. The Register suggests the difficulty may be distinguishing a conversational pause from a genuine unanswered question.[1]

Copilot seats will be billed before access

GitHub will require payment before access for new Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise seats from 1 September 2026 for new customers and 1 October 2026 for existing customers. Prices are unchanged; removing a seat will produce no prorated refund, with the change reflected in the next billing cycle. No earlier than 28 September 2026, the Copilot cloud agent, Copilot Chat on github.com and GitHub Mobile will merge into one experience. Chat-data retention will extend from 28 days to the life of the account. On the same date, the default effort level for Copilot code review will move from Lite to Balanced.[2]

Microsoft turns its roadmap into a continuous feed

The Microsoft 365 Roadmap is being renamed the AI at Work roadmap. According to a notice in the Microsoft 365 admin centre, the page will show upcoming innovations across Microsoft 365, Copilot, agents and related AI-powered experiences in one place. Information for Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Dataverse will join the same page from September. Microsoft also intends to replace its twice-yearly release waves with announcements made as soon as plans are confirmed. The scope of the AI at Work page expands in September.[3]
