ChatGPT opens connected-account finance questions to US Free and Go users
OpenAI has begun expanding ChatGPT Finances to Free and Go users in the United States, following availability on Plus and Pro. Optional account connections supply spending, investment and credit information for questions and dashboards. The feature cannot transfer money or trade assets. Disconnecting an account also leaves earlier conversation content and saved financial memories subject to separate deletion.

Free and Go accounts join the US rollout
OpenAI has begun rolling out ChatGPT Finances to Free and Go users in the United States on web, iOS and Android. Plus and Pro users already had access. The feature lets people connect financial information and ask about spending, bills, subscriptions, investments and credit. Its dashboard brings together spending, net worth, portfolio and credit data.[1], [2]
Account links supply information without executing transactions
Bank and investment accounts connect through Plaid, a financial-account linking service. Credit reports use a separate Experian connection. Both links are optional and can be used independently. Answers can show the account entries they rely on. Finances cannot transfer money, pay bills, execute trades or open and close accounts. Transactions generally update within minutes, although delays can stretch to hours; transfers, reimbursements and duplicate entries can distort spending categories.[1]
Disconnecting leaves earlier chats to be deleted separately
After an account is disconnected, OpenAI and Plaid connection data are scheduled for deletion within thirty days. Financial information already included in a conversation remains in its history unless the conversation is deleted. Saved financial memories have a separate view for inspection and removal. Temporary chats do not use linked accounts or saved financial memories, while model-improvement use follows the general Data Controls settings.[1]
