SoftBank connects AGENTIC STAR to Datadog for incident investigations

SoftBank has connected its AGENTIC STAR enterprise AI platform to Datadog monitoring data. Operators can ask about Datadog incidents

SoftBank connected its enterprise AI platform AGENTIC STAR to Datadog monitoring data on October 15. Datadog collects information about applications and cloud systems. The connection uses Model Context Protocol, or MCP, a shared method for linking AI applications to external tools and data sources.[1], [2]

SoftBank says operators can ask about an incident or a decline in performance without writing a specialized monitoring query. The platform analyzes metrics, logs and traces together to suggest possible causes of incidents, affected systems and responses. Cloud usage and opportunities to improve operations are also among its described uses.[1]

Alerts can initiate an agent’s investigation

The platform’s existing application programming interface integration can pass a Datadog alert to an AI agent. SoftBank says the agent gathers related monitoring data and organizes possible causes of incidents and the scope of the impact. Its preliminary findings can reach responsible staff through a chat tool or email before they begin responding.[1]

Automatic investigation requires Datadog settings

Automatic investigation uses Datadog’s alert notifications and requires configuration on that service. SoftBank also lists automated operations reports among the platform’s functions. Its announcement cautions that the described services include items under development and that specifications or delivery dates may change. It provides no measured reduction in incident response time.[1]
