Brush changes the design already on the page
Design platform Canva has introduced Brush, a vision-language model built to understand and revise existing compositions. Users can ask it to change a line of text, update material across a presentation or adapt a design to another format. The model examines how the page is assembled before making the requested changes, with the aim of preserving elements that should stay in place. Developed by the company’s Canva Research laboratory, Brush now powers supported Canva AI editing tasks for Pro subscribers. Wider availability has been announced without a firm date.[1], [2]
The output remains editable inside Canva. Text, pictures, colors and layouts can be adjusted by hand after the model has worked on them. Brush uses an agent loop that changes design elements through code, then inspects the resulting page to guide its next adjustment. That inspection-and-edit cycle is directed at an existing project, including tasks such as restyling a composition or reworking it for a different channel while retaining its individual elements.[1], [2]
