Northern Irish electronic duo Bicep has announced Slug for 29 January 2027 and shared Gas, Ultra and Equarium. Their connected videos form a short film about pigeon fanciers. Slug is set for January with three new songs

Bicep, the Northern Irish electronic music duo, has announced Slug for 29 January 2027 through Ninja Tune, its record label. Gas, Ultra and Equarium accompany the announcement. They follow Air, Lemonder and Viper, shared last month. The new album follows the duo’s 2021 release Isles and has an announced tracklist of 18 pieces.[1], [2]

Three videos form a film about pigeon fanciers

Gas features Lauren Duffus and Soarr, while Ultra pairs Eartheater with Saskia and Equarium features Kehina. The three videos were directed by Young Replicant and join into a short film about pigeon fanciers. Other album guests include Clark, George Riley, Sassy 009, Kučka and Rowena Fysx. Clark contributes to Edmeno and Viper; George Riley and Kučka appear on Curb.[1]

The duo describes a wider musical range

Bicep says it wanted to make a more varied album and challenge expectations of its sound. According to the announcement’s press materials, Slug takes its name from the contrast between familiar land slugs and the colours and forms of underwater species. Sassy 009 contributes to Janus and Rowena Fysx to Lamb. Kehina also appears on Pole II and Rose, while Soarr joins Air and the closing track Tides.[1]
