Medtronic revenue rose 13.7 per cent, with 570 million dollars from an extra week

First-quarter revenue was 9.756 billion dollars, up 13.7 per cent

Medtronic reported 9.756 billion dollars of revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, which ended on 31 July. In the company release carried by PR Newswire, that was up 13.7 per cent on both a reported and an organic basis and roughly 200 basis points above the guidance midpoint. The company estimated that the extra fiscal week in the quarter added about 570 million dollars to organic growth. RTTNews reported the same quarter at 9.76 billion dollars, up 13.7 per cent from 8.6 billion dollars in the first quarter of fiscal 2026.[1], [2]

Earnings per share rose to 1.14 dollars, the margin to 18.1 per cent

GAAP diluted earnings per share rose 40.7 per cent to 1.14 dollars and the non-GAAP measure rose 15.1 per cent to 1.45 dollars, according to PR Newswire. RTTNews put GAAP net income at 1.47 billion dollars, or 1.14 dollars per share, compared with 1.04 billion dollars, or 0.81 dollars per share, a year earlier, and non-GAAP net income at 1.86 billion dollars, or 1.45 dollars per share, versus 1.63 billion dollars, or 1.26 dollars. The GAAP operating margin gained 120 basis points to 18.1 per cent and the non-GAAP operating margin gained 10 basis points to 23.7 per cent in the PR Newswire release. RTTNews said the operating margin improved to 18.1 per cent from 16.8 per cent, while the non-GAAP margin held at 23.7 per cent.[1], [2]

Guidance rose to 7.25-7.75 per cent; two cardiovascular rates

Cardiovascular portfolio revenue grew 18.9 per cent organically in the PR Newswire release. RTTNews reported cardiovascular revenue up 19.5 per cent to 3.93 billion dollars from 3.28 billion dollars. Electrophysiology Therapies grew 29 per cent. Neuroscience delivered 2.68 billion dollars, up 10.3 per cent; Medical Surgical revenue rose 10 per cent to 2.28 billion dollars; Diabetes revenue advanced 16.9 per cent to 843 million dollars. Medtronic raised its fiscal 2027 organic revenue growth outlook to 7.25-7.75 per cent and lifted non-GAAP earnings per share guidance to 5.94 dollars to 6.00 dollars, figures carried by PR Newswire and by RTTNews. RTTNews said the stock closed Monday at 90.65 dollars and was at 95.44 dollars in pre-market trading, up 5.25 per cent, and that Medtronic expanded a robotics partnership with Cornerstone Robotics worth 700 million dollars and invested in Pi-Cardia.[1], [2]
