New York sitting puts the November pause, magnets and model rails on the table

Scott Bessent and He Lifeng hold an all-day sitting at JPMorgan in Manhattan on the pause that expires 10 November, plus rare-earth magnets and model rails. The wire puts Greer in the room at 1430 GMT.

Manhattan, 1430 GMT, Greer in the room

The 20 September 2026 Reuters item places Bessent and He Lifeng at JPMorgan's Manhattan headquarters for a full-day sitting. The clock on that page is 1430 GMT, written as half past ten in New York. Jamieson Greer is named as joining. The pause the wire says they are there to handle expires on 10 November. Magnets and rails around open- and closed-weight models sit on the same list. None of that is a signed communiqué; it is the wire's schedule copy.[1]

Minerals below par; model rails on the list

A senior US official, speaking on Friday, told reporters that China's critical-mineral flows have not been up to par. Bessent, in a separate statement, said he expected a talk on rails for both open-weight and closed-weight models. Those two voices are in the Reuters copy. They are not a Beijing readout. The minerals line is about flows, not a new blacklist printed with the story. The model-rail line is a topic, not a draft annex.[1]

Farm buys, Boeing jets, a restored 12.5 percent duty

The May leaders' round, in the same wire, already recorded yearly farm purchases of 17 billion dollars and more than 200 Boeing jets as Chinese pledges. The pause had put a ceiling near 20 percent on US duties on Chinese goods. After the emergency-law package fell in court, the administration put back a 12.5 percent duty on forced-labour grounds. Those three numbers are background in the 20 September copy, not a prediction of what Monday rewrites.[1]
