Seven locations join the Canadian network
CCT Auto Trans, a Canadian finished-vehicle carrier, acquired Livingston Vehicle Transportation Services, the vehicle-hauling arm of customs broker Livingston International. The deal announced on 13 October expands CCT’s Canadian network and adds rail-linked services. Livingston’s operation has seven locations across the country and serves both vehicle manufacturers and individual customers. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.[1], [2]
Trucks and rail links broaden coverage
Livingston uses its own trucks and vehicle carriers and partners with Canadian National, Canada’s rail operator, for transcontinental moves. CCT chief executive Chad Doiron said the acquisition supplies a national footprint based on owned assets and established staff and drivers. Doiron described the combination as providing open, enclosed and rail vehicle transport. CCT already operates 90 open auto-carrier units and employs more than 80 people, including drivers.[1]
Employees move to the acquired operation
CCT Group of Companies intends to operate the acquired business as CCT Vehicle Transportation Solutions. Livingston employees and drivers transfer to that operation. Livingston chief executive Robert Smith said the sale allows the transport business to grow under a specialist carrier while Livingston concentrates on its core customs-brokerage work. Left Lane Associates represented Livingston in the transaction.[1]
