Supermicro raises preliminary quarterly revenue estimate to 18.5–19.5 billion dollars

Supermicro raised its preliminary revenue estimate for the quarter ended September 30 to 18.5–19.5 billion US dollars and also increased its gross margin range. Management attributed the changes to demand for its artificial intelligence platforms and customer and product mix. The financial close is unfinished, and full results are scheduled for November 3.

The September quarter revenue range rises

Supermicro raised its preliminary net sales estimate for the quarter ended September 30, the first quarter of fiscal 2027, to 18.5–19.5 billion US dollars. The previous range was 14.5–15.5 billion US dollars. The company attributed the increase to demand for its artificial intelligence platforms.[1], [2]

Based in San Jose, California, Supermicro supplies servers and related infrastructure for artificial intelligence, cloud and enterprise computing. The announcement revised the company’s estimates for a quarter that had already ended; its financial close was still in progress.[1]

Customer and product mix lift the margin estimate

The preliminary gross margin range increased from 10.4–10.8 per cent to 12.0–12.5 per cent. Management linked that revision to changes in customer and product mix. The company also identified concentration among large customers as a risk, saying larger accounts could bring higher sales costs, lower margins and less predictable timing.[1]

Full results are scheduled for November 3

The preliminary information has not been audited or reviewed by Supermicro’s independent accountant, and final revenue and gross margin could differ from the announced ranges. Supermicro plans to publish full first-quarter results on November 3 and discuss them that day. Its disclosure also identifies trade policy and tariffs among risks to operations.[1]
