Masked settlers attack Jalud and beat an NBC crew

A Palestinian woman and three members of an NBC News team were attacked with sticks and stones in the occupied West Bank village of Jalud on Saturday, after a car with Israeli plates reversed up the hill toward them and at least four masked men jumped out. Palestine Red Crescent teams took Aida Ahmed Abdullah, 51, to hospital; a statement from the Israeli military and Israel Border Police said her injuries were not life-threatening. A correspondent, a camera operator and a producer were treated at a nearby clinic. NBC News correspondent Matt Bradley said he was hit twice in the arm and that the attackers jumped out, beat the group and got back into the car. Producer Lawahez Jabari said she saw a gun that was not used; camera equipment and one of the crew's vehicles were damaged.[1]

Qusra sees stone-throwing and a home barricade

After Israeli settlers attacked the northern West Bank villages of Qusra and Jalud on Saturday, dozens of settlers threw stones at residents in Qusra and barricaded themselves inside a Palestinian home while the family was still in it. The attacks followed nearly three weeks of tension after settlers blocked supply routes to Palestinian homes in early August, which drew criticism from the US ambassador. The military said it was aware of reports of Palestinian injuries but gave no figures.[2]

Netanyahu condemns the raids as troops seize vehicles

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he strongly condemned the criminal acts of violence, describing them as violating the law and harming Israel's standing in the world. He asked security forces to bring those responsible to justice. The military and Israel Border Police said dozens of rioters had barricaded themselves inside a Palestinian home with residents still inside, and that vehicles used to reach the area were confiscated. The army said forces opened a police investigation and stayed deployed to prevent further disturbances. No arrests were reported.[2], [1]
