Apartment blocks in two districts were hit on the same day
Jet-powered Russian drones struck two residential districts in Kyiv from the morning of September 9. The Kyiv Independent and The New Voice of Ukraine both report that a 24-story apartment building in the Darnytskyi district was hit during the morning. A fire broke out on its upper floors and apartments across several levels were damaged. In the afternoon, another drone hit a nine-story apartment building in the Dniprovskyi district and started a second building fire.[1], [2]
A woman was killed in the Dniprovskyi strike
A woman died in the strike on the nine-story building in Dniprovskyi. Both outlets reported that the injured included a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. The New Voice of Ukraine reported at least three injuries in that building strike, while The Kyiv Independent later reported at least 16 injured citywide. The figures cover different scopes: the first concerns the Dniprovskyi apartment, and the second all of the Kyiv attacks during the day.[1], [2]
Fires extended beyond the apartment blocks
Kyiv's air-raid alert lasted more than six hours from the start of the day. A warehouse fire followed a drone crash in Dniprovskyi. The morning fire in the 24-story Darnytskyi apartment building was followed by another fire at the nine-story Dniprovskyi building in the afternoon. Two residential fires and a separate warehouse fire near homes were reported during the day.[1], [2]
