Israeli strike kills four members of the Ahmad family in Beit Lahiya

An Israeli strike on a home in northern Gaza's Beit Lahiya killed a couple from the Ahmad family and their daughters, aged 8 and 12. Hospital officials reported the deaths to Al Jazeera and AP during a ceasefire in force since October 2025; Israel's military said it targeted a militant but gave no details.

A couple and two children were killed

An Israeli strike on a home in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza killed four members of the Ahmad family. According to Shifa Hospital officials cited by Al Jazeera and AP, the dead were a husband and wife and their daughters, aged 8 and 12. Their bodies were taken to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Al Jazeera placed the strike near Kamal Adwan Hospital, while AP independently matched the family relationship, location and ages of the children through hospital officials.[1], [2]

Israeli military names a different target

According to AP, Israel's military said the Beit Lahiya strike killed a militant who had taken part in attacks against its forces. The military did not provide details or identify the person behind that claim. Al Jazeera's report carried no Israeli military comment. The deaths of the family members are therefore supported by hospital sourcing in two independent reports, while the assertion about the military target comes only from Israel's military and was not independently established by the details published.[2], [1]

The strike occurred during the ceasefire

A US-backed ceasefire has been in force since October 2025. Al Jazeera reported overnight Israeli air strikes, helicopter fire near the Jabalia camp and artillery fire across northern Gaza. AP noted that Israel's military has previously said it carries out strikes in response to threats against its forces during the ceasefire. The Beit Lahiya attack was therefore another lethal incident recorded while that arrangement remained in effect; broader casualty totals issued by the parties have not been independently verified.[1], [2]
