Two Houthi drones bound for Riyadh reportedly intercepted
The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted two drones sent by Yemen's Houthi movement toward the Riyadh area. The interception has not been independently verified. Saudi civil defence issued alerts for southern cities. The claim comes amid continued Houthi attacks on Saudi cities and infrastructure, while reports disagree on the number of missiles headed toward Khamis Mushait.

Two drones headed for Riyadh
The Saudi-led military coalition said early Saturday that it intercepted and destroyed two drones sent by Yemen's Houthi movement toward the Riyadh area. Coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki was named in the Gulf News account. Both reports relay the coalition's account of a cross-border attack; neither independently verifies where the aircraft took off or where they were intercepted.[1], [2]
Southern cities received alerts
Saudi civil defence issued overnight warnings in Khamis Mushait and Abha, cities in the kingdom's southwest. The National said no alert was announced for Riyadh, although the coalition named the capital as the drones' destination. Gulf News also listed Jazan among the places warned. The published alerts therefore do not establish that Riyadh itself received a warning.[1], [2]
Missile accounts differ
The coalition account in The National also described missiles headed toward Khamis Mushait, but the outlets gave different counts: two in The National and one in Gulf News. The two-drone claim is their shared account. The Houthis have attacked Saudi cities, energy infrastructure and shipping since declaring a maritime blockade in July. The Gulf Cooperation Council, a regional body of Gulf states, called the attacks a threat to civilians and regional stability and backed Saudi security measures. The coalition gave no further detail about the outcome.[1], [2]
