A judge enforces the Stuttgart remand warrant
German special police units arrested a man in the Reutlingen district of Baden-Württemberg on November 3 over the September 23 arson attack on a Starlink satellite-internet facility in Poland. He appeared before an investigating judge in Stuttgart, who enforced a remand warrant. The warrant concerned strong suspicion of preparing a terrorist offence. Authorities identified the suspect as a Turkish citizen.[1], [2]
Prosecutors allege the attack was commissioned from Germany
Stuttgart prosecutors and the Baden-Württemberg criminal police allege that the man commissioned two suspects already in custody to carry out the Polish attack. Authorities said they recovered 8 mobile phones and ammunition. The prosecution’s state-security unit opened a separate German investigation after receiving further information. The accusations describe the investigators’ case; they have not been established by a final conviction.[1]
Earlier suspects face extradition proceedings
Two other Turkish citizens were arrested in Nürtingen, Germany, on October 12 at Poland’s request. The next day, a judge served Poland’s European arrest warrants and ordered the men kept in custody. Stuttgart prosecutors are handling their extradition proceedings. Those proceedings run separately from the German national investigation concerning the newly arrested suspect, under which the latest remand warrant was enforced.[1]
