Sutcliffe moves from the bench into the starting side
Aicha Sutcliffe has been selected for her first Scotland start in women’s rugby against Australia in Canberra. Interim head coach Dave Butcher made three changes for the final match of Scotland’s WXV Global Series campaign. Sutcliffe, who plays for Glasgow Warriors, had previously appeared as a replacement for the national side.[1], [2]
Bonar returns after illness as Rollie reclaims full-back role
Sarah Bonar is back in the second row after illness kept her out of the preceding match in Sydney. Chloe Rollie returns at full-back. In the back line, Hannah Ramsay plays at fly-half and Helen Nelson at inside centre. Lana Skeldon and Hollie Cunningham move to the replacements, while Evie Wills is omitted. Anne Young and Elliann Clarke join Sutcliffe in the front row, while Holland Bogan partners Bonar in the second row.[1]
Two uncapped players have an opportunity from the bench
Glasgow Warriors players Nicole Flynn and Imogen Spence are among the replacements and could make their international debuts. Flynn plays at centre and Spence in the front row. Scotland face Australia on Friday in Canberra, their third consecutive encounter with the same opponents. The Scottish side are still seeking their first victory in this competition.[1]
