Meta AI arrives on Mac
Meta released a dedicated Mac app for its Meta AI assistant on August 19. The app supports screen sharing, allowing the assistant to see the active window and give more specific answers. It also plugs into Meta's analytics and advertising tools for professional accounts, pulling data from Facebook, Instagram and Google Workspace documents. The app is free to use, though the company is phasing in rate limits on advanced features requiring a Meta One plan.[1]
Waymo expands Ojai van availability
Waymo opened rides in its driverless Ojai vans to all riders in Los Angeles, Phoenix and San Francisco. The company started limited pickups with the purpose-built vehicle in the same three cities earlier this year. The Ojai is a robotaxi-first design featuring a roomier cabin and backseat entertainment compared to Waymo's standard cars. The service currently has no operational limits in these locations.[2]
Cognition denies SpaceX acquisition report
Cognition chief executive Scott Wu said on X that the AI coding startup is not for sale and that the company has not been in talks with SpaceX, denying an earlier Bloomberg report. Cognition was valued at 25 billion dollars in May 2026 and is reportedly in talks for a new round that would value it at 40 billion dollars. Beyond Wu's post, neither side has issued a formal statement on the matter, following reports that SpaceX recently bought Cursor for 60 billion dollars.[3]
