NVIDIA's robotics computer uses 40 per cent less power in 15-watt mode
NVIDIA says the Jetson Orin Nano 2 matches its predecessor's performance with 40 per cent less power in 15-watt mode and doubles inference speed. Legato plans to put hearing support inside eyeglass frames and sell them from autumn 2026. Waymo is preparing mapping and manually driven tests in Munich as it targets a public driverless taxi service by the end of 2027.

78 TOPS at 15 watts
NVIDIA's measurements put its entry-level Jetson Orin Nano 2 at 78 TOPS, twice the inference speed of the previous model. The company says it matches its predecessor's performance with 40 per cent less power in 15-watt mode. The computer has 8 gigabytes of memory and an eight-core processor. NVIDIA says the product, aimed at robotics and edge-AI applications, will become available in the first half of 2027.[1]
Hearing support in eyeglass frames
Legato is putting hearing support into open-ear eyeglass frames and plans to sell the product through eye-care providers from autumn 2026. The startup says its dual-speaker arrangement cuts sound escaping to bystanders by 99 per cent. Legato says roughly 50 million US adults live with hearing loss, while only 20 per cent of people diagnosed receive treatment. The company left stealth with 12 million dollars in funding.[2]
Mapping comes first in Munich
Waymo says it will begin mapping Munich streets and testing with human drivers in the coming weeks. Its sequence moves from mapping to manually driven tests, then limited rides, and only after those stages to a public service. The target is a commercial driverless taxi service in the city by the end of 2027. Waymo reports more than 20 million paid trips to date and hundreds of thousands of rides each week.[3]
