Individual use approaches two in five

Turkey's statistical institute, TÜİK, released its 2026 artificial intelligence figures, showing individual generative AI use rising from 19.2% to 37.6% in a year. Business use of any AI technology reached 14%. These measures describe different groups: people using systems that generate content and companies using a wider range of AI technologies.[1], [2]

Among individual users, 86.4% reported personal purposes, 37.3% professional purposes and 32.6% formal education. People could report several purposes. The answers therefore describe overlapping uses rather than portions of one total.[1]

Young adults report the highest adoption

The rate was 64.9% among people aged 16–24, 55.7% at 25–34 and 38.1% at 35–44. Higher-education graduates reported 62.7%, compared with 45.4% among high-school or vocational-school graduates. The rate was 38.1% for women and 37.2% for men.[1]

Expertise is the leading obstacle for prospective users

Of businesses not using AI, 8.3% were considering it. In that group, 72.3% cited a lack of expertise, 66.4% uncertainty about legal responsibility and 65.4% data or privacy concerns. Marketing and sales were the most common purpose among companies already using AI, at 51%.[1]
