Electronic devices were seized in three searches

In Lomas de Zamora, in Argentina’s Buenos Aires province, investigators searched homes and seized electronic equipment in a case involving students at Colegio Modelo, a local school. The investigation concerns allegations that they used schoolmates’ real photographs to create sexualized fake images with artificial intelligence and circulated the material.[1], [2]

A juvenile court authorized three searches in the investigation involving four students. Officers seized phones, computers and a PlayStation console. Complaints describe the use of photographs of approximately 50 girls from different school years. Investigators are examining each student’s role.[1]

Families describe sales and wider circulation

Families allege that the images were sold through WhatsApp groups and catalogs containing real photographs and identifying information about the girls. Some relatives say the material reached other schools and websites. Examination of the seized devices is intended to establish how the images were created, stored and distributed.[1]

Investigators examine payment for the application

Investigators are also examining an allegation that an adult paid for the AI application with a credit card. What that person knew about its use and whether he participated remain unresolved. School officials and education inspectors decided that the four students should continue classes remotely, away from affected students. The allegations have not been established by a judgment.[1]
