Türk Telekom’s M-NEO wins an award for AI-based base-station energy management
Türk Telekom’s M-NEO platform won the European operator category at Gartner’s Eye on Innovation Awards. Developed by the company’s engineers, it uses artificial intelligence for dynamic, automated energy management at mobile base stations while supporting continuity of access. The recognition follows a previous award for the company’s physical-line analysis project in 2024.

M-NEO takes the European operator award
Türk Telekom, Turkey’s telecommunications operator, announced that its Mobile Network Energy Management Platform, M-NEO, won first place in the European operator category of Gartner’s Eye on Innovation Awards. The project applies artificial intelligence to energy management at mobile base stations. The company’s own engineers developed it using domestic resources.[1], [2]
Energy management accompanies continuity of access
Türk Telekom describes M-NEO’s energy management as dynamic and automated. Its operating objectives bring energy use together with continuity of mobile access. Zafer Orhan, the company’s deputy general manager for networks, said its engineering work covers artificial intelligence and next-generation network technologies, with projects used across different technological layers. He identified access continuity and energy management as M-NEO’s specific focus.[1]
A previous award covered physical-line analysis
In 2024, Türk Telekom won in the same awards program with NOVA ALFA, its AI-supported physical-line analysis project. That earlier system examines physical lines, while M-NEO addresses energy management at mobile base stations. The latest award was described as the company’s second first-place award in the program over three years. Türk Telekom links its engineering work to developing more automated and sustainable networks.[1]
