A dedicated route for enterprise work
HCLTech and Anthropic announced a Global Premier Partnership on October 12. HCLTech, a technology services and software company, says it will establish a dedicated Anthropic business unit and a global Center of Excellence. The unit is intended to develop enterprise solutions using Anthropic’s Claude model family. Both accounts describe a plan to move customer projects from experiments toward operating deployments, rather than report completed deployments.[1], [2]
HCLTech says its teams will create offerings with Claude, the Cowork work assistant and Claude Code, a coding tool. The planned unit will help clients adopt AI-native engineering practices, train employees and build internal capacity to operate agent-based systems. It also promises secure sandbox environments and engineers deployed alongside customers. Those elements describe how the company intends to deliver work, with no count of enterprises already using the new arrangement.[1], [2]
Software products enter the agreement
HCLSoftware, HCLTech’s software arm, will become an Anthropic independent software vendor partner. The announced scope covers cybersecurity, automation, business applications and software development. HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan are named among products planned for Claude capabilities, while Actian is named for AI analyst functions. A release date or finished feature set has not been announced for every product.[1], [2]
The companies also intend to integrate Claude and Claude Code into AI Force, HCLTech’s platform for agent-assisted software engineering. The named workflows are IT support, code remediation and digital services for employees. Unite.AI describes AI Force as able to use different model families and operate in on-premises, hybrid and cloud environments. Adding Anthropic tools to that platform is a planned integration, separate from the platform’s existing capabilities.[1], [2]
Controls are part of the plan
The partnership puts safety, cybersecurity and governance alongside expanded AI use. HCLTech describes secure testing environments, policy guardrails, exception handling and human oversight of consequential changes. Domain-b notes that the precise controls will vary with each customer implementation. The safeguards are deployment intentions. A completed installation under this partnership has not yet undergone a reported technical audit.[1], [2]
Anthropic president Daniela Amodei points to sensitive systems in banking, health care, telecommunications and manufacturing as potential settings. HCLTech chief C Vijayakumar says the company can combine global services delivery with its own software products. HCLTech reports a workforce exceeding 223,000 people across 60 countries, giving the proposed business unit a broad delivery network. The agreement is established; its product integrations and customer results remain forthcoming.[1], [2]
