PolyBuzz reaches 1002 minutes per person
PolyBuzz, an app for talking to virtual characters, led South Korean AI services in average monthly usage per person during September. IGAWorks’ MobileIndex measurements, published by Maeil Business Newspaper on October 11, covered Android and iOS users. PolyBuzz reached 1002 minutes per person, followed by BabeChat at 274 minutes and ChatGPT at 152 minutes. PolyBuzz’s time was approximately 6.7 times ChatGPT’s.[1]
Long sessions coexist with a smaller audience
PolyBuzz’s monthly active users numbered in the tens of thousands, compared with ChatGPT’s 17.99 million. Total use also put ChatGPT ahead at 45.54 million hours, followed by Claude at 2.42 million hours and PolyBuzz at 1.06 million hours. PolyBuzz lets users select cartoon-style or human-looking characters, remembers earlier conversations and can initiate a new conversation. Its terms exclude users under 18.[1]
BabeChat’s total use grows as time per person falls
BabeChat, another character-conversation service, is described as available to users aged 12 and above. Its average monthly time per person fell by 38 per cent over a year, reaching 274 minutes compared with the earlier 443 minutes. Aggregate monthly use grew by 28.9 per cent, reaching 463,000 hours compared with 359,000 hours previously. PolyBuzz’s per-person time increased from 621 minutes a year earlier, a rise of 61.4 per cent.[1]
