Meshy Edit changes one part of a 3D model while keeping the original

Meshy opened Meshy Edit to registered users on October 16. Creators select part of a supported model, describe a change and receive a new version while keeping the original. The tool supports detailed models generated with Meshy 6 and Meshy 7.1. Each edit costs 20 credits; uploaded and low-poly models are outside its supported inputs.

Select a part and describe the change

Meshy, a service for generating three-dimensional models with AI, launched Meshy Edit on October 16. Users select part of a generated model and describe the change they want. The tool regenerates that region rather than requiring a fresh whole-model generation. Each edit costs 20 credits.[1], [2]

The company says the feature is available to all registered users through the model viewer and its 3D printing tools. A new in-house model handles changes such as removing an accessory, adding a detail or changing a shape. Meshy’s demonstration removes a hat from a bust; its stated processing time is about a minute.[1]

Selection changes what is edited

The Lasso tool can select front, side and back surfaces together, while the Brush refines visible surfaces. Users can attach up to 5 reference images. With no region selected, the edit applies to the whole model. Every operation creates a new model and preserves the original, and the result can be edited again.[1]

Supported models and printing routes

Supported inputs are high-poly models generated with Meshy 6 or Meshy 7.1, including Ultra 2K. Textured models switch to their untextured version for editing. Ultra 4K, low-poly and externally uploaded models are unsupported. Results can be downloaded or passed to supported print-preparation software, including Bambu Studio, Snapmaker, Flash Studio and xTool Studio.[1]
