Apple brings a beta AI assistant into Pages, Numbers and Keynote

Apple has added Intelligent Assistant to its document, spreadsheet and presentation apps. The beta helps create text, formulas, slides and visuals from requests made inside the applications. Access requires an Apple Creator Studio subscription and compatible software and hardware, with the initial language restricted to US English. The update also adds changes available to users outside the subscription.

The assistant joins Apple’s three work apps

Apple has added a beta feature called Intelligent Assistant to Pages, its document editor, Numbers, its spreadsheet app, and Keynote, its presentation software. Access is offered to Apple Creator Studio subscribers in US English and requires iOS 27 or later. The feature brings requests to an assistant inside the applications themselves.[1], [2]

The October 22 update followed a temporary withdrawal of the applications, which subsequently became downloadable again. The assistant’s subscription access is separate from downloading the free apps. The release remains a beta with device and language requirements.[1]

Requests produce formulas, drafts and slides

In Numbers, natural-language requests can create formulas and tables or help visualize data. Pages adds support for beginning drafts, writing sections and changing tone, alongside image and shape generation. Keynote’s assistant helps create and refine slides, animations and presenter notes. All three apps can search the web for a topic and add information to the document, extending the assistant beyond editing material already entered by the user.[1]

The update also changes presentation exchange

Keynote gains a new interchange format for importing and exporting presentations. Subscribers also receive templates, themes and selected videos through Content Hub, Apple’s content collection. Bug fixes and performance improvements reach users outside the subscription as well. Apple describes assistance with advanced functions and suggestions for actions to try, while the beta assistant’s initial language and device conditions still govern who can use it.[1]
