Technology research company IDC is using Claude internally while giving customers a connection to its Quanta research platform. An Anthropic case study published on 28 October describes questions about markets, strategy and purchases answered with IDC’s datasets, research and forecasts. Each response is meant to cite the underlying document or dataset. Access remains tied to an existing IDC customer relationship.[1]
One example matches a customer’s existing architecture and business needs with IDC’s procurement database and MarketScape vendor research. The output can be an Excel scorecard for evaluation. Another compares a customer’s budget with IDC forecasts, while a competitive brief brings together positioning, market share and product capabilities. Quanta can be used through Claude’s desktop and mobile applications and Office add-ins.[1]
IDC’s own engineering, product, marketing and sales teams also use Claude. Described tasks include software tests, initial plans, sales-opportunity reviews and rebuilding the internal repository used for research data. The companies report time savings from these uses, without an independent comparison of matched groups. Customers already using Quanta can add the connector within Claude; other prospective users are directed to IDC.[1]
