Conductor joins Meta and schedules its cloud shutdown for November 20
Meta has acquired Conductor, a workspace for running coding agents in parallel. The company has halted new registrations and set a staged withdrawal of its cloud service: read-only access starts November 13, followed by closure and data deletion from November 20. Its local app will receive models and critical fixes into early 2027, while the team develops a new interface.

New accounts stop as Meta acquires Conductor
Meta has acquired Conductor, a coding workspace that lets software developers run several AI agents in parallel. The agents work on separate portions of a project in their own workspaces. Conductor announced the move on November 4, and Meta confirmed the acquisition. Its application launched in July 2025; new users can now neither register nor download it.[1], [2]
Existing free accounts cannot move to a pro subscription, while existing pro users can continue using their paid features without charge. Conductor says it is developing a new interface and hopes to offer something for customers in early 2027. The announcement gives different withdrawal dates for the cloud service and the application running locally on a Mac.[1]
Cloud conversations become read-only on November 13
Conductor Cloud workspaces are due to become read-only on November 13. Users will still be able to open old conversations and export their information, but they will lose the ability to send new messages. Active subscribers will receive refunds. This stage precedes the shutdown, giving existing users continued access to their earlier work during the transition.[1]
The cloud service will close on November 20, when Conductor will begin deleting cloud user data. The company asks users to export their material before that deadline. A workspace and its conversations can be transferred to a Mac using the local-transfer option. Account settings provide a separate export facility for downloading an archive of all Conductor data. To transfer one workspace, users right-click it and choose the option that moves its chats to local storage.[1]
Local support continues into early 2027
The local application is scheduled to receive new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027, when its wind-down will begin. Conductor says it has never sold user data or used it for model training and will continue that policy. It also says all user data will be deleted when the application closes in early 2027. Deletion of cloud data begins on November 20; the local support period continues beyond that date.[1]
