What does the Cyber Weapon Index measure when the vulnerabilities are planted?
18 models were run against the same network. The ranking changes twice: once when the vulnerabilities stop being planted, and once when software is added around the model.
Zambia's dispute over Hichilema's re-election has moved from courts to charges
The rapporteur, Gina Romero, can name the detainees and ask for their release; the office that can open the cells is the one her finding is about.
Adobe buys the Indian marketing startup Rilo, shuts the product down and takes on its six-person team
Adobe has acquired Rilo, an Indian startup whose agents automated competitor tracking, content repurposing and sales-call analysis for marketing and go-to-market teams. Neither side disclosed terms of the licensing and team deal, which moves a six-person team into Adobe and shuts the platform to existing customers. Adobe says the purchase brings a strong technical team and carries Rilo's agent capabilities into its enterprise suite, its second Indian acquisition after Rephrase.ai in 2023.
Anthropic forced Claude users offline after stolen session cookies hijacked their accounts
Infostealer malware lifted active Claude session cookies and replayed them to skip password and two-step checks, draining usage allowances and making unauthorised charges on affected accounts. Anthropic force-signed the accounts out, deleted saved payment cards and refunded the charges, though the step does not remove the malware itself. The company did not say how many accounts were hit or whether single sign-on seats were touched.
Anthropic publishes two commerce agent blueprints before the holiday season, leaving payment with the retailer
Anthropic has published a blueprint for building commerce agents on Claude, with reference implementations of a shopping agent and a merchant agent for retail, travel, telecom and ticketing platforms. The shopping agent searches catalogues, assembles carts and answers order, return and refund questions, then hands the cart to the retailer's own checkout; payment processing stays with the retailer. A person approves the merchant agent's pricing and campaign drafts before they go live.
Ben Gvir launches Gaza 'Disengagement 710' emigration plan as a campaign centerpiece
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir presented a 20-page plan on Thursday for the voluntary emigration of Gaza's population, projecting 250,000 departures in the first year, before Israel's 27 October election. Israeli outlet Ynetnews reported the plan, called 'Disengagement 710', follows Ben Gvir's decision to play down an earlier, unrelated campaign proposal, and that no country has agreed to accept Palestinians leaving Gaza. His Jewish Power party will demand a dedicated emigration ministry in coalition talks.
BepiColombo sheds its propulsion module as ESA confirms a signal from Mercury's approaching orbiters
The European Space Agency and Japan's space agency separated BepiColombo's propulsion module from its two Mercury-bound science orbiters on 3 September, the first step of an eight-year mission's arrival sequence. ESA's mission control detected a preliminary Doppler signal consistent with the planned manoeuvre and streamed the operation live from Darmstadt. Mercury orbit capture follows on 21 November, with science operations set to begin in April 2027.
Booz Allen's Cyber Weapon Index gap narrows once Claude Sonnet gets a cheap attack harness
Booz Allen's 18-model Cyber Weapon Index found only Claude Mythos completing a full intrusion chain unaided, scoring 80 against Claude Sonnet 5's 13. TNW's review of the same release reports that pairing Sonnet 5 with an inexpensive attack harness closed that 67-point gap, and flags a separate finding: one model refused a task for lacking credentials while its cyber-tuned sibling completed the identical task.
BP makes Ian Tyler its permanent chair and Amanda Blanc announces her exit from the board
BP appointed Ian Tyler as its permanent chair on Wednesday, ending the search that opened when the board removed Albert Manifold in May 2026, less than eight months after he took the role. Tyler, a non-executive director on the board since April 2025, assumes the role immediately. Amanda Blanc, the senior independent director who led the search, said she would stand down at next year's annual meeting and leave once a successor is found.

SiliconANGLE reported that the forecast trailed Wall Street expectations and that the shares slipped in late trading.
