Film Forum introduces two environmental awards
The Film Forum programme of Turkey’s 63rd International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is introducing Green Sets Possible awards for the first time. Finalist projects compete in two categories during the 24–31 October festival: a climate-conscious story award and a green production award. Separate juries assess the two categories.[1], [2]
A climate-conscious story receives 2,000 euros
The story award carries 2,000 euros. Green Sets Possible, the sustainability initiative behind the prizes, seeks stories that include people’s relationship with nature in everyday life, extending beyond disaster narratives. The jury includes European Climate Foundation Turkey director Mustafa Özgür Berke, screenwriter Selcan Özgür and Nature Association president Dicle Tuba Kılıç, alongside Ersin Gök and Yeşim Girgin.[1]
Production support covers the next shoot
The production winner receives expert consultancy for its next shoot. The team works on reducing energy use and waste, estimates the carbon footprint before filming, and measures and reports the result afterwards. The initiative says that environmental report can be used in international funding and co-production applications. Environmental engineer Işıl Aslan and Ekin İlyasoğlu join Gök and Girgin on the production jury.[1]
