Nick Cave brings piano songs and audience questions back to North America

Nick Cave has announced 25 North American Conversations performances for 2027, reviving the format he toured in 2019. Songs from his catalogue at the piano share the evening with unscreened audience questions. The itinerary runs from Vancouver on April 9 to New Orleans on May 21, with several cities receiving two nights.

A solo programme returns after eight years

Nick Cave has announced a return to North America in 2027 with Conversations, an evening combining songs at the piano and questions from the audience. The 25 performances revive the format used in 2019. Questions are unscreened: the audience addresses Cave directly, while the musical part draws on his own catalogue.[1], [2]

Cave links these encounters to The Red Hand Files, his continuing correspondence with readers. The question-and-answer project began in 2018. In announcing the new dates, he described wanting to resume the conversations after eight years. The touring programme brings that exchange into theatres and concert halls in Canada and the United States.[1]

Vancouver opens the announced itinerary

The itinerary starts on April 9 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, Canada. Portland follows on April 12. Six cities have two consecutive performances each: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston and Brooklyn. Toronto’s Massey Hall is listed for April 29 and 30, followed by Montreal’s St-Denis Theatre on May 2.[1]

The route ends in New Orleans

The southern US dates include Asheville on May 13, Atlanta on May 14 and Nashville on May 16. Cave is then scheduled at Memphis’s Orpheum Theatre on May 18. The final announced performance is May 21 at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans.[1]
