A second monthly gain
Mexico's monthly industrial activity indicator rose 0.5% in July after seasonal and calendar adjustment. Following a 0.2% increase in June, the result marked two consecutive monthly gains. Industrial output was 2.4% higher in July than a year earlier. Construction posted the strongest annual increase at 7.2%, while manufacturing rose 1.6% and electricity, gas and water services increased 1.3%. Mining output declined 0.2%. Total industrial activity in January-July was 0.4% above the same seven months last year, its first positive cumulative comparison in 2026. Construction increased 3.6% over the period and manufacturing rose 0.2%. Electricity, gas and water services declined 1.6%, while mining fell 3.8%.
