Prescient joins SGS’s Digital Trust business

SGS, the Swiss testing, inspection and certification group, has completed its acquisition of a majority stake in US-based Prescient Security. The cybersecurity and digital-compliance specialist joins the group’s Digital Trust platform, which brings together its services for managing digital risk and demonstrating compliance.[1], [2]

Customers gain security testing and compliance services

Prescient has more than 350 employees and 5,000 customers worldwide, according to SGS. Its work covers information security, financial integrity, payment security and data protection. Customers operate in finance, healthcare, retail, technology and defense, with certification services covering internationally recognized standards and US federal requirements.[1]

The business also conducts penetration tests, controlled attempts to identify security weaknesses. It combines expert-led manual work with scalable digital methods and AI-assisted models. Its own automation technology supports compliance workflows and security processes alongside these testing services.[1]

SGS targets additional revenue through 2027

SGS aims to increase Digital Trust revenue by 2027 compared with 2023. Chief executive Géraldine Picaud described the acquisition as completing the service portfolio, particularly digital-trust audits. Prescient’s founders Fabrice Mouret and Sammy Chowdhury said joining SGS would broaden customer access and support investment in staff, technology and services.[1]

The acquiring group operates more than 2,500 laboratories and business facilities in 115 countries and employs over 100,000 people. The revenue figure is its target for the wider Digital Trust business; it is not the disclosed price of the Prescient stake.[1]
