BlueMatrix signs a deal to buy Aiera
BlueMatrix, a research authoring and distribution company whose majority shareholder is private-equity firm Thoma Bravo, agreed to acquire Aiera, a platform that delivers financial content. Financial terms were not disclosed.[1], [2]
The companies expect the deal to close in the fourth quarter of this year, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions. David Nable is BlueMatrix’s chief executive and Ken Sena leads Aiera.[1]
A research network meets permissioned content
BlueMatrix runs a research authoring and distribution network that serves more than a thousand financial institutions and over seven thousand analysts worldwide, combining content preparation, compliance and client distribution.[1]
Aiera gives permissioned access to proprietary financial content from research providers. Its backers include ten global research providers, Fin Capital and Flybridge Capital Partners. Together the businesses are meant to cover broker research, expert insights, news, live events, transcripts and company filings.[1]
Access rights and attribution are meant to survive inside AI systems
The executives say they want to preserve access rights, intellectual property and attribution when investment firms bring research into their own artificial-intelligence systems. Their plan is for provider-defined permissions to travel from the point of authoring through to a query, with auditable use.[1]
Thoma Bravo runs private-equity and private-credit strategies. Aiera’s revenue and profit were not part of the announcement, and no quantified synergy estimate was given.[1]
