Xpeng passes 50,000 monthly deliveries for the first time

Xpeng increased October deliveries to a record 50,237 vehicles, recovering from September’s slight annual decline. Overseas deliveries also reached a monthly high and accounted for more than a quarter of the total. The stronger month narrowed the company’s January–October delivery shortfall, although the ten-month total remained below the same period last year.

A new monthly high after September’s decline

Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng delivered a record 50,237 vehicles in October, taking its monthly volume above 50,000 for the first time. The company returned to annual growth after a slight year-on-year decline in September.[1], [2]

Overseas deliveries take more than a quarter

October deliveries grew 19.57 per cent from a year earlier and 21.77 per cent from September’s 41,256 vehicles. The previous monthly record was 42,013 in October last year. Overseas deliveries reached a record 13,326 vehicles, up 166 per cent annually and 32.53 per cent from September. Their share of monthly deliveries increased from 24.37 per cent in September to 26.53 per cent in October. CnEVPost calculated Chinese domestic deliveries at 36,911 vehicles, the highest in a year.[1]

The ten-month shortfall narrows

January–October deliveries totalled 334,604 vehicles, down 5.80 per cent from the corresponding period last year. The decline narrowed from 9.20 per cent over the first nine months. Overseas deliveries reached 72,805 over the ten months, about 21.76 per cent of the total. Chairman and chief executive He Xiaopeng had told an August earnings call that the company aimed to exceed 60,000 monthly sales in the fourth quarter with new models. October’s actual delivery total remained below that target.[1]
