Two strikes leave 12 people dead

Lebanon's Health Ministry said Israeli strikes on Kfar Rumman overnight killed 12 people, including two children and four women. BBC News and AP News attribute the death toll to the ministry. According to that account, the first strike destroyed a three-storey home in the Nabatieh district village and killed 11 people. A second strike on a vehicle killed a paramedic.[1], [2]

Israel says it struck Hezbollah targets

Israel's military said the strikes followed the launch of two explosive drones at its soldiers. It said the targets were Hezbollah infrastructure and fighters moving weapons. BBC News and AP News attribute that account to the Israeli military, while AP News also notes that the casualty figure came from Lebanon's Health Ministry. The military said it was reviewing reports that uninvolved people had been harmed. Hezbollah made no immediate comment.[1], [2]

Aoun warns over the June ceasefire

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said the escalation endangered the ceasefire brokered by the United States in June and urged other governments to press Israel to stop its attacks. Health Ministry figures reported by BBC News put the toll across southern Lebanon at at least 27 people over three days. The 12 deaths in Kfar Rumman form part of that three-day toll. AP News's September 7 report also confirms the location and the same casualty figure.[1], [2]
