Araghchi goes to radar Beijing to meet Wang Yi on Wednesday
Al Jazeera reports Abbas Araghchi is due in Beijing on Wednesday to sit with Wang Yi, his second visit since the US-Israeli war on Iran opened in late February, shortly before a planned Trump-Xi meeting in Washington. The copy cites Iran International that Beijing’s foreign office made the trip public on Tuesday. Reuters and BBC pages checked on 15 September did not carry their own matching Wang Yi appointment story.

Al Jazeera: second Beijing trip
Al Jazeera writes that Iran’s foreign minister will sit with his Chinese counterpart on Wednesday. The trip is his second to Beijing since the US-Israeli war on Iran opened in late February. At the BRICS gathering in New Delhi, Xi called on Global South governments to help cool the Middle East and restated a four-item de-escalation frame, without unveiling a US-Iran mediation package. Hamed Vafaei at Tehran University called treating that radar speech as a mediation offer a free reading. Ex-minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Xi’s openings could help take heat out of the file. Al Jazeera adds that Washington is again pressing the nuclear radar file after the IAEA board last week sent Iran to the UN Security Council, a move China and Russia opposed.[1]
Timing before Trump and Xi
The same Al Jazeera report places the talks just before a planned Donald Trump–Xi Jinping meeting in Washington. In that copy, Iran International is cited for Beijing’s foreign office making the trip public on Tuesday. Iran International is not on this card’s source list; the sentence is Al Jazeera’s attribution. That the announcement and the Wang Yi appointment are one event is Al Jazeera’s own framing. The Trump-Xi calendar, the nuclear file’s move to the Council, and the second Beijing trip therefore sit on a single publisher’s chain.[1]
One itinerary, one publisher
The Wednesday Wang Yi appointment, the second Beijing trip and the IAEA file’s move to the Council sit in one Al Jazeera report. Reuters world pages and the BBC News feed on 15 September did not carry their own matching appointment headline. The card does not read Xi’s New Delhi speech as a mediation launch; it keeps Vafaei’s warning against a free reading. The nuclear-file pressure is Al Jazeera’s account of Washington. An empty second-publisher second-publisher check is not a reason to drop the itinerary; the 15 September check came up empty.[1]
