Russian military strike claims fail a Zaporizhzhia satellite check

Greenpeace Ukraine, with London-based McKenzie Intelligence Services, said satellite imagery did not support Russian military claims of a 10 February artillery strike or a 4 June drone strike at the Ferosplavna yard in the Zaporizhzhia war. Al Jazeera carried the same analysis on cuts to lines feeding the occupied nuclear plant.

What the satellite stack does not show

Greenpeace Ukraine, working with London-based McKenzie Intelligence Services, said satellite imagery did not support Russian military claims of a 10 February artillery strike or a 4 June drone strike at the Ferosplavna yard in the Zaporizhzhia war. That is a negative finding about two dated strike stories. It is not, in the Greenpeace text, a UN nuclear-watchdog inspection. The dates 10 February and 4 June are the claims being tested, not new attack days announced by the IAEA.[1], [2]

The advocacy line on the feeders

The group alleged deliberate cuts to lines feeding Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant. Greenpeace Ukraine presents that as sabotage by Russia. The same retained card flags that allegation as advocacy, not a finding by the UN nuclear watchdog. Readers should keep those two layers apart. Imagery that fails to show a Ukrainian strike is not automatically proof of who cut which line on which hour.[1], [2]

Al Jazeera carries the analysis

Al Jazeera reported the Greenpeace satellite analysis on sabotage at Zaporizhzhia. That second publisher’s page gives the same-event headline a non-advocacy desk. However Al Jazeera is still reporting Greenpeace’s stack, not publishing a separate sensor study. The shared event is the Ferosplavna imagery claim and the feeder-line allegation dated 17 September. Alternative explanation: cloud, angle or tasking gaps could hide a strike the group says is absent.[1], [2]
