Four locations listed for Friday
Moldova’s Defence Ministry reported four airspace incidents on Friday, 16 October. Its weekly statement listed Tudora, the Otaci–Hădărăuți direction, the Căplani–Olănești direction and a route from Purcari toward Dnestrovsc in the Transnistrian segment. The independent newspaper Ziarul de Gardă reported the official account. The figures describe incidents recorded by the ministry; they are not an independently established count of separate aircraft or drones.[1], [2]
Weekly total includes debris and overflights
The ministry counted seven incidents between 10 and 16 October: one case involving debris and six unauthorized military-aircraft overflights. It said explosive drone fragments were found on 10 October at Geamăna in Moldova’s Anenii Noi district. Two overflight incidents were recorded on 15 October, at Purcari in Ștefan Vodă district and Ivanovca in the Transnistrian segment. The four Friday incidents complete that weekly breakdown. The statement placed the events in the context of Russian attacks on Ukraine without independently identifying responsibility for every crossing.[1]
Ministry warns residents about dangerous fragments
The ministry reported 63 airspace incidents since the beginning of the year, including 15 in October, and 100 since 2022. It warned that aircraft, missiles and fragments found on Moldovan territory could endanger public safety. Residents who discover such objects were instructed not to approach or touch them and to notify the authorities by calling 112. The totals reflect information held by the ministry when it prepared the statement.[1]
