Ponitka’s basket survives the final attempt

Bahçeşehir Koleji, the Turkish basketball club, defeated Greek side PAOK 84–81 on 27 October. The visitors had a chance to take the game to overtime, but Tyree missed a three-point attempt on the last possession. The result was also carried by Anadolu Agency in its dispatch published by Habertürk. The decisive home basket came from Ponitka after Osman had brought PAOK within a single point at 82–81.[1], [2]

That narrow finish followed a much larger home advantage. Bahçeşehir had led 78–61 with five minutes remaining, the biggest gap of the night. PAOK then cut the deficit to 78–71 with two and a half minutes left. Foster’s later three-pointer made it 82–79 before Osman brought the visitors closer still, leaving the outcome open until the final shot.[1]

A halftime cushion gives way to another PAOK rally

PAOK opened with a Tyree basket for a 3–0 lead. Foster’s three-pointer later put the visitors ahead 23–22, but Bahçeşehir closed the opening quarter in front at 26–23. In the second period, Naz Mitrou-Long’s three gave PAOK a 36–32 advantage. The hosts replied with six unanswered points and went on to build a 52–40 halftime lead.[1]

Bahçeşehir stayed ahead in the third quarter, first at 58–45 and then at 60–52. PAOK recovered to 62–58 before the hosts entered the last period with a 63–58 lead. The visitors initially reduced that margin to two. Bahçeşehir then went on a 15–0 run to establish its 78–61 advantage before the late PAOK response.[1]

Flynn leads the hosts while Osman scores 30

Flynn scored 28 points, including four three-pointers, to lead Bahçeşehir. Reed added 17 and Cavanaugh 11, while Ponitka finished with nine. For PAOK, Osman scored 30 with five threes. Foster contributed 20, Alexander 12 and Tyree 10. Mitrou-Long had three points, with Gray, Moore and Calathes scoring two each in the club’s published scoring list.[1]
