Nketiah sends Palace into the League Cup quarter-finals

Eddie Nketiah’s first-half goal gave Crystal Palace a 1-0 win at Fulham and a place in the League Cup quarter-finals. Returning goalkeeper Dean Henderson protected the advantage through several saves. Palace changed ten starters during a crowded fixture schedule and reached the last eight for a third consecutive season, a first for the club.

Nketiah converts Mingueza’s cross

Crystal Palace reached the League Cup quarter-finals with a 1-0 victory at Fulham. Eddie Nketiah scored the only goal in the thirty-seventh minute at Craven Cottage stadium. Oscar Mingueza won the ball on the right and drove forward before delivering a low cross. Nketiah stepped ahead of his defender and guided the ball into the far corner.[1], [2]

Henderson protects Palace’s narrow lead

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson returned after injury and denied Antonee Robinson before the goal. After halftime he stopped Rodrigo Muniz and a close-range Alex Iwobi effort. Fulham pushed for an equaliser, but Henderson also turned away Gonzalo Garcia’s stoppage-time header. Palace had chances of their own through Dwight McNeil and Daichi Kamada, although neither added a second goal.[1]

Ten changes still bring a third straight quarter-final

Palace manager Pierre Sage changed ten starters amid a schedule of nine matches in twenty-eight days. Cheick Doucoure made his first competitive appearance since January 2025. The visitors secured their fifth consecutive win at Craven Cottage and reached the League Cup’s last eight for a third successive season, something the club had never previously achieved.[1]
