Washington turn a 10-point deficit into victory

Washington Commanders beat Philadelphia Eagles 27-10 in the United States’ professional American football league. Philadelphia had moved 10-0 ahead, but Washington answered with 27 consecutive points and held the Eagles scoreless for the rest of the game.[1], [2]

Saquon Barkley supplied Philadelphia’s only touchdown, the six-point score earned by reaching the end zone. Taking the snap directly, he scored with a short run. Washington’s win left the Commanders with two victories, four losses and one tie. Philadelphia fell to two wins and six defeats after losing for the sixth game in a row.[1]

McKee faces repeated pressure

Philadelphia quarterback Tanner McKee was brought down behind the line before releasing the ball five times. Washington’s defence delivered eight quarterback hits and nine tackles for loss. With the score at 13-10 in the third quarter, a McKee fumble also ended an Eagles possession.[1]

Trotter leads Philadelphia’s defence

Replacing the injured Jihaad Campbell, Jeremiah Trotter Jr led Philadelphia with 10 tackles, six made alone. Andrew Mukuba forced Chig Okonkwo to lose the ball, which Zack Baun recovered for the Eagles’ first fumble recovery of the season. Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith also sacked the opposing quarterback. Head coach Nick Sirianni accepted responsibility for the defeat and said the coaches needed closer attention to detail.[1]
