Parker’s debut ends with a point in Cardiff

West Ham United recovered from three goals behind to draw 3–3 away to Cardiff City on 4 November. It was Scott Parker’s first match as West Ham head coach.[1], [2]

The match was played at Cardiff City Stadium in the Championship, England’s second tier. Jack Moylan scored each of the home side’s three goals before the interval, leaving the visitors facing a substantial halftime deficit.[1]

Moylan scores three times before the interval

Moylan opened the scoring in the 11th minute after taking Alex Robertson’s pass and advancing before shooting into the top corner. A penalty brought his second in the 37th minute, following Morato’s challenge after Perry Ng played the ball behind the defence. Two minutes later, Moylan headed in Joel Bagan’s corner to complete his hat-trick and put Cardiff firmly ahead.[1]

Bowen helps create all three West Ham goals

Divine Mukasa started the comeback in the 58th minute, finishing Jarrod Bowen’s pass over Nathan Trott. Arne Engels scored his first West Ham goal in the 65th after Joël Piroe helped on another Bowen pass. Max Kilman completed the recovery in the 82nd minute, reaching Bowen’s cross ahead of the goalkeeper after a partially cleared corner. Trott later saved from Tomáš Souček.[1]
