Cisco plans AI agents that keep working after a customer chat ends
Cisco has introduced Dialog for the Webex AI Agent platform, aiming to keep customer cases moving after the conversation ends. The framework brings customer history and company information into an agent’s work and can distribute tasks across people and systems. Cisco pairs that execution layer with monitoring and security controls. Cisco plans to introduce these capabilities; general customer availability and measured improvements remain unestablished.

A customer case can continue after the conversation
Cisco introduced Dialog for Webex AI Agent, its customer-service agent platform, at WebexOne 2026. The framework is intended to let an AI agent continue pursuing a customer’s issue after the conversation ends. The announcement adds a layer for carrying out longer tasks beneath the platform’s agent-building tools.[1], [2]
Customer history accompanies company information
Dialog is designed to combine earlier customer interactions with enterprise information. Cisco says the agent can interpret a customer’s intent, plan a route to resolution and assign work to people, other agents and connected systems. It also describes learning from human decisions and previous interactions to guide later actions within company rules.[1]
The agent platform already supplies tools for building, connecting and deploying customer-facing agents. Dialog’s proposed execution framework extends the context available while a case is being handled, rather than requiring every contact to begin with an isolated account of the customer’s problem.[1]
Security and monitoring accompany the planned execution layer
Cisco describes AI Defense safeguards and Splunk monitoring alongside the agent workflow. These controls are intended to make agent activity visible as work moves across company systems. Enterprise identity and permission rules are part of that design. The safeguards are announced controls, with no independently measured security outcomes established in this release.[1]
