Alibaba’s coding tool Qoder has brought Fast mode to its desktop application. The October 10 rollout adds a new option in the Chinese edition and upgrades Performance mode in the international edition. Desktop version 0.4.4 or later is required. Distribution to development environments, the command-line tool and other products remains planned, separating the shipped desktop change from the wider rollout.
Alibaba’s Qoder coding tool has introduced Fast mode in its desktop application. The dated October 10 release entry identifies version 0.4.4. In the Chinese edition the mode is a new option; in the international edition it upgrades the existing Performance mode. The initial change applies to the desktop application rather than every tool in the Qoder family.[1], [2]
Qoder attributes the mode to faster underlying models, routing tasks according to their type, adjustments to agent workflows and reduced network latency. Agents are AI systems that can carry out tasks through tools. The company describes these changes as a way to reduce waiting for a response. Independent testing of the claimed speed improvements is not established in the announcement.[1]
Desktop users need version 0.4.4 or later. Qoder says international Performance users receive the upgrade without an additional action. Distribution to integrated development environments, the JetBrains plugin, command-line tools, mobile and cloud-agent products is planned for later stages. Existing credit balances remain unchanged according to the company; the desktop rollout does not establish that the mode is already available across those other products.[1]
