Raven matches room photos with property listings

Graylark Technologies has demonstrated its Raven tool matching interior photographs with property and rental listings. The examples compare room features even when photographs come from different angles. Police have previously obtained access, but Miami-Dade describes limited exploratory use without major investigative breakthroughs. The 404 Media investigation also carries Airbnb and Zillow responses about obtaining listing data and the limits of selected demonstrations.

Room features link photographs with listings

Graylark Technologies, the developer of the visual-location tool Raven, has shown selected interior-photo matches involving property and short-term rental listings. An October 12 investigation by 404 Media examines how room features can link pictures taken from different angles. One demonstration matched a laundry room in Charlotte, in the US state of North Carolina; another involved a bathroom in Montecito, California.[1]

Police describe limited exploratory use

Miami-Dade described its use of Graylark’s tools as exploratory and confined to a few cases. The Florida police department reported no major investigative breakthrough or arrest, and said the software had not been the sole or primary basis for outcomes. Los Angeles police had also obtained access earlier. The company develops regional models, including one for Miami-Dade, and previously called its service GeoSpy.[1]

Listing platforms respond to the use of their images

Airbnb denied any relationship with the tool’s developer and said it was reviewing anti-scraping safeguards. The rental platform withholds an exact address until a booking is confirmed. Zillow pointed to its prohibition on unauthorised scraping; Vrbo gave no response. Graylark had previously confined access to government and enterprise customers following requests involving stalking. The selected matching examples have no independent error-rate measurement covering arbitrary interior photos.[1]
