Dayforce plans Ribbon voice interviews inside its recruiting software
Dayforce has signed an agreement to acquire Ribbon AI, whose tools conduct candidate interviews and support talent searches and outreach. Integration into Dayforce’s recruiting service is planned after closing. Ribbon generates questions from job descriptions and evaluates interview transcripts, while a scheduling agent remains under development. The deal’s price and completion timetable were not disclosed.

A signed agreement brings interview tools into Dayforce’s plans
Human-resources software company Dayforce agreed on October 23 to acquire Toronto-based Ribbon AI. The target company provides tools for candidate interviews, talent searches and engagement. Dayforce plans to integrate the technology into its new recruiting service after the transaction closes. The companies did not disclose a purchase price or expected completion date. The announced stage is a signed acquisition agreement, with the integration still to follow.[1], [2]
Ribbon was founded in 2022 by chief executive Arsham Ghahramani and chief operating officer Dave Vu. It raised funding in early 2025 in a round led by Radical Ventures. Dayforce has headquarters in Toronto and Minneapolis and was acquired earlier this year by US private-equity firm Thoma Bravo. The Ribbon agreement would add conversational interviewing technology to Dayforce’s wider human-resources software portfolio.[1], [2]
Job descriptions become questions and scoring criteria
Ribbon’s voice interviewer holds two-way conversations with job candidates. Starting with a job description, it can generate questions and a scoring rubric informed by relevant past interviews, with assessments based on transcripts. Dayforce says video and other integrity checks can identify unusual patterns in audio, gaze and response timing. Those are company descriptions of the tools, rather than independent measurements of assessment accuracy or fairness.[2]
Dayforce describes interviews available around the clock as giving candidates more choice over when to participate. Founder and chief executive David Ossip says the aim is for AI to take on manual, time-sensitive work while recruiters focus on candidate relationships and hiring decisions. The company says Ribbon has hundreds of customers and has conducted more than one million interviews. Those usage figures are attributed to Dayforce.[1], [2]
Sourcing and outreach accompany interviews
Ribbon can also help employers rediscover suitable candidates in existing talent pools and reach them through SMS, WhatsApp and email. Dayforce says an AI scheduling agent is nearing completion. The planned recruiting workflow connects sourcing, screening, evaluation and engagement, with scheduling still in development. AI interviews have drawn criticism over being assessed by a machine and incentives for candidates to present themselves insincerely, concerns that accompany the announced integration plans.[1], [2]
