KEXIM plans AI searches for credit reviews while staff retain decisions
The Export-Import Bank of Korea is developing an internal AI platform to search earlier lending decisions, rules and financial documents. Some of its planned services will enter a December pilot, with the main systems targeted for the first half of 2027. Sensitive credit information will stay on the bank’s network, and employees will make final decisions.

An internal platform for lending work
The Export-Import Bank of Korea is developing 27 services on its own generative-AI platform, KEXIM AI. MoneyToday reports that December trials are planned for part of the service, ahead of completing the main systems during the first half of 2027. Its development budget is about 13 billion won. The bank will keep sensitive lending-review data within its internal computing infrastructure.[1]
Earlier approvals become searchable
The proposed search accepts everyday questions and returns older loan arrangements, their conditions and similar approval cases. Internal rules and institutional knowledge will also support financing and risk analysis. Overseas project finance requires examining a project’s cash flow, contracts and policy risks. The planned credit assistant will prepare supporting material for different processing stages, while final judgments remain with employees and existing review procedures.[1]
More functions are planned through 2028
The development schedule runs through 2028, adding more detailed reports and help checking the parties involved in transactions. Corporate-finance staff will also get help examining documents. Customer services will recommend policy-finance products and search export, overseas-investment and industry reports, along with tender information. The bank is rebuilding its document repository to connect these services with internal rulebooks and shared institutional material.[1]
