LobeHub lets bots join conversations without being mentioned

LobeHub has enabled proactive participation across its bots after a limited preview. Bots can decide to answer an unattended question even outside their assigned duties, while avoiding replies addressed to someone else. Owners can disable the setting, and a new decision history shows why a bot answered, waited or stayed silent.

Bots weigh unanswered questions

LobeHub, a platform for building and using AI agents, has changed when its channel bots enter a conversation. According to the project’s November 1 release, proactive participation is now enabled generally after a preview in the preceding version. A bot can offer help with an unattended question beyond its assigned duties, while messages replying to another person remain outside that participation policy.[1]

Owners control participation in channel settings

Channel owners can switch off the behavior in the wake-policy settings, and the adjustment takes effect when saved. Configured keywords can still trigger a bot even with proactive participation disabled. The developer says the broader participation decision requires no extra model request. This separates the owner’s general participation preference from the keyword rules already configured for that channel.[1]

Decision history makes silence visible

A new history view exposes the participation choices: answering, skipping a message or postponing a reply. Each entry includes the model’s score, an explanation and a link to the original Discord message. Owners can inspect a month-long overview, filter outcomes and flag a decision as right or wrong. The display concerns the choice to participate, rather than an independent assessment of the answer’s accuracy.[1]
