Airbnb plans an AI travel agent that builds screens around each request
Airbnb plans to launch an AI travel agent in the first half of 2027. Brian Chesky described an interface that combines maps, photographs, calendars and comparisons according to the traveler’s request. The proposed service would also help during trips, including with booking changes and refunds, while keeping travelers involved in choosing their plans.

Chesky sets a launch window for the travel agent
Airbnb plans to introduce specialized AI agents for travel, extending the help available through its app. Brian Chesky described the project during the company’s third-quarter results call. Airbnb puts the launch of a guest-facing travel agent in the first half of 2027. The proposed service is intended to accompany travelers from their initial exploration of options into the trip itself.[1], [2]
The request determines which screens appear
The interface would assemble maps, photographs, comparisons, calendars and itineraries according to the request. A library of hundreds of travel-specific components supplies the possible screens. Travelers comparing accommodation could see visual options, while a question about dates or the order of a journey would call for different elements. Airbnb envisions travelers making decisions with the people accompanying them as they explore and adjust their plans.[1]
Assistance is planned for changes during a trip
The company also describes help with booking changes, replacement accommodation, refunds, payments and safety questions after travel begins. Chesky says Airbnb aims to preserve the enjoyment of researching a trip while helping with the work surrounding those choices. These functions belong to the announced product plan. The company has given a launch half-year, without an exact release day or a completed worldwide rollout.[1]
